Olive Young Express: Free Shuttle Bus from Incheon Airport to Myeongdong
CJ Olive Young has announced the launch of the “OLIVE YOUNG Express,” a dedicated bus service aimed at enhancing the K-beauty experience for foreign tourists.
The service, which runs three times a day from Incheon Airport to Myeong-dong, will operate for six months until January 31, 2025. This initiative is designed to provide convenient transportation for tourists while promoting K-beauty and various K-culture experiences in the Myeong-dong area.
According to the Tourism Knowledge Information System, approximately 6 million foreign tourists visited Korea for sightseeing in the first half of this year. During the same period, Olive Young attracted around 4 million foreign visitors, with about 7 out of 10 tourists making a stop at Olive Young stores. Notably, foreign sales at Olive Young’s six Myeong-dong locations grew by 168% year-on-year in the first half of the year.
Considering that more than 90% of sales in the Myeong-dong area come from foreign customers, Olive Young chose Myeong-dong as the destination for the “OLIVE YOUNG Express.” The bus route will utilize the 6701 line operated by K Airport Limousine, dropping passengers off at the entrance to Myeong-dong to maximize accessibility to the entire district.
The “OLIVE YOUNG Express” is available exclusively to foreign customers who book through the travel and leisure platform Klook. The service is free of charge, and passengers can board the bus by presenting a QR code received upon reservation. The bus operates daily at 9 AM, 1:30 PM, and 6 PM, departing from Incheon Airport Terminal 1 and arriving at the Myeong-dong Haewoon Center in Seoul.
Special perks are offered to passengers of the “OLIVE YOUNG Express,” including a free monthly K-beauty product sample. In the first month, passengers will receive a sample of Bring Green Tea Tree Cica Pore Clay Pack Strong. Additionally, passengers will be given an Olive Young voucher, which offers extra benefits when used at Olive Young stores in Myeong-dong, such as an instant discount of 10,000 KRW on purchases over 100,000 KRW and free samples.
An Olive Young representative stated, “The ‘OLIVE YOUNG Express’ aims to provide a convenient shopping experience for foreign tourists while fostering a positive perception of K-beauty and Olive Young. Our stores will continue to quickly introduce high-quality K-beauty brands to foreign customers and offer easy access to the K-beauty experience.”
With the global popularity of K-beauty on the rise, foreign sales in various regions, including Myeong-dong, have also increased. In the first half of this year, foreign sales at Olive Young stores nationwide grew by 189% compared to the same period last year. Emerging tourist hotspots like Gangnam, Busan, and Jeju have seen sales surge by over 300%. Additionally, Olive Young operates the “Olive Young Global” cross-border e-commerce platform, selling K-beauty products to customers in over 150 countries.
