KATSEYE Breaks into Billboard 200 with Debut Album
Global girl group KATSEYE, formed by HYBE America and Geffen Records, has made a remarkable entrance into the U.S. music scene by successfully landing on the Billboard 200 chart with their debut album.
According to the latest Billboard chart released on August 27 (local time), KATSEYE’s first EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), debuted at No. 119 on the Billboard 200.
The debut album SIS (Soft Is Strong) emphasizes the group’s core message, “Soft Is Strong,” and features a diverse mix of genres including alternative pop, ballad, contemporary R&B, electro-pop, and dance.
Among the five tracks on the album, the double title track “Touch” has garnered significant attention, ranking 9th on Spotify’s “Daily Viral Songs Global” chart, showcasing the group’s growing global popularity.
KATSEYE’s achievements extend beyond the Billboard 200. The group also secured the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s “Emerging Artist” chart, which highlights up-and-coming artists gaining traction in the music industry, further solidifying their presence in the U.S. market.
Formed through the global audition program “The Debut: Dream Academy,” which attracted 120,000 applicants worldwide, KATSEYE is the first girl group produced by HYBE and Geffen Records.
Their journey to stardom is also featured in the Netflix documentary series Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, which has been well-received by audiences, further boosting their popularity.
