Hwang Jia Wins Best Actress Award at Seoul International Children’s Film Festival
Hwang Jia won the ‘Best Actress in a Feature Film’ award in the International Competition category at the 12th Seoul International Children’s Film Festival, which concluded on September 10th.
She received the award for her role in the independent film Moonwalk, further establishing her reputation as an actress.
Moonwalk tells the story of a 16-year-old girl named Jung-hee who embarks on an adventure to find her grandfather, whom she has never met, in an effort to bring closure to her mother’s midlife crisis.
Hwang Jia portrayed Jung-hee with an impressive range of emotions, captivating viewers with her journey to confront the realities of her life.
Hwang Jia made her debut in TV Chosun’s Grand Prince and has since built her filmography through various genres, including SBS’s Why Her?, Disney+’s May It Please the Court, and ENA’s Can We Be Strangers?.
She especially left a lasting impression in the 2024 hit tvN drama Queen of Tears, where she played the younger version of Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), captivating both domestic and international audiences.
